PRESENTER TRAINING

CAN I BE A PRESENTER IN ROLLAND PEDAGOGY WITHOUT TAKING THE PRESENTER TRAINING COURSE?

In order to present on Paul Rolland string Pedagogy at a conference or other gathering of string teachers, you do not necessarily need to have had the Rolland Presenter Training. However, if you successfully complete this program your name will be added to a “Paul Rolland String Pedagogy Presenters” list, which will help conference coordinators identify instructors with Rolland expertise. Mentors in Rolland Pedagogy will be the trainers.

DO I NEED TO HAVE ROLLAND CERTIFICATION LEVELS 1-4 BEFORE TAKING THE PRESENTER TRAINING COURSE?

Yes, you need either to have 4 levels of Rolland Certification prior to enrolling in the Presenter Training course, or special permission from the Paul Rolland String Pedagogy Society.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE CERTIFICATION LEVELS 1-4 IN ORDER TO BEGIN PRESENTER TRAINING?

The certification process typically takes 4 years. The Rolland String Pedagogy Society is currently working on additional offerings that may make it possible to take more than one level within a calendar year.

HOW OFTEN IS PRESENTER TRAINING OFFERED?

The Rolland String Pedagogy Society will offer Presenter Training as often as a group of interested and qualified people can be formed. 2-3 people per group is recommended. Session dates will be scheduled based on participant availability.

IS PRESENTER TRAINING OFFERED ONLINE?

Yes.

DO I NEED PRESENTER TRAINING IN ORDER TO TAKE THE MENTOR TRAINING COURSE?

No. While there is similarity between the Presenter Training course and Mentor Training course, each course is a stand-alone offering. Presenter Training mainly focuses on your ability to be an effective speaker and to model Rolland principles to large groups. Mentor Training focuses more on equipping you to effectively guide individuals and small groups of teachers through the knowledge and skills required for an understanding of Rolland pedagogy.
